How to Get to Kythira

The island of Kythira is easily accessible both by plane and ferry, giving you flexibility whether you're traveling from Athens, the Peloponnese, or Crete. 

By Plane

Kythira has a state airport (Kythira Island National Airport "Alexandros Aristotelis Onassis" – airport).

• From Athens: Daily flights from Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos), flight time is approximately 40 minutes.

• Airlines: Sky Express, Aegean Airlines (operated by Olympic Air).

By Ferry

There are regular ferry routes from various ports:

From Neapoli (Peloponnese)

• Daily departures.

• Duration: approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

• Arrival port: Diakofti, the main port of Kythira.

• Ferry: Porfyrousa (operated by Kythira Lines).

From Piraeus (Athens)

• 1–2 times per week.

• Duration: approximately 6.5 hours.

• Usually includes stops at the Cyclades and Antikythera.

 From Kissamos, Crete (Western Crete)

• 1–2 times per week.

• Ideal for travelers combining Kythira with a trip to Crete.
